Love In Memory was my first major project using Unreal Engine 4.26, marking an important step in expanding my development skills within this powerful engine.
Early in the project, we focused on crafting the game’s narrative dimension, producing comprehensive documents including a Gamefeel Document, a Pitch with the Narrative Voice, a UX Graph, a Timeline, and a World Focus Diagram to firmly establish our creative vision.
On the technical side, I was responsible for implementing the save system, ensuring reliable persistence of player progress and game state. Additionally, I developed the user interface components, delivering intuitive and accessible player interaction. I also contributed to one of the game’s mini-games, designing gameplay elements that complemented the main experience.
Beyond programming, I expanded my skill set by creating materials and particle effects using Unreal’s Niagara system, delving deeper into visual effects than I had previously encountered in class. This allowed me to add a polished, dynamic feel to the game’s aesthetics.
